Michelle Scholfield
Lower Elementary Lead Teacher
Michelle first found Montessori in 2004 and fell in love. At the time, she was working at a group home for young boys who were struggling with many social-emotional issues, and for many of them school was a constant struggle. In Montessori education, she saw beautiful, inviting environments and materials which entice children to learn, and knew this was what she wanted to do. Michelle loves that Montessori environments are diverse communities, including children of different backgrounds and abilities, who work together to learn, solve problems, and create their best selves.
In addition to a BS in psychology, Michelle has also earned an M.Ed. and her AMI elementary certification. Michelle moved from Maryland to Massachusetts in 2005 and started teaching upper elementary at a Montessori school in Newton. In 2007, she married her husband Tom and joined Adams Montessori when it was the Montessori School of Quincy. She has had a number of roles on the elementary team over the years: from lead teaching, to co-teaching, to assistant teaching. Michelle and Tom are now raising their own Montessori children, Lillian and Finley. In addition to teaching, Michelle loves to write, create, listen to books on Audible, and play outside with her family.
